Wood Horse (甲午): The Oak at High Noon

The picture

甲 is the great tree: upright, stubborn about direction, happiest growing toward open sky. 午 is the saju month from early June to early July, with the summer solstice in the middle. The Horse holds two hidden stems, 丁 (yin fire) and 己 (yin earth). Measured from 甲, 丁 is 傷官, the Hurting Officer, an Output star of sharp, unfiltered expression, and 己 is 正財, Direct Wealth, steady reward for steady work. So the tree sits on its own flame. Its growth leaves as light and heat, which is why it shows so well and dries out so fast. A summer tree wants water close by.
